Programmes, Press Cuttings and Correspondence to Sibyl Ward, 1915-1930

22 typed and handwritten letters to Sibyl Ward from friends and colleagues. Also includes a letter from Sibyl Ward, with a note reading ‘Broadhead’s Cigarette to be smoked on his return from the war. Sat July 17th 1915.’ With a later note added reading ‘Mr Broadhead never came back’, inside the envelope was a cigarette and a programme for Sibyl Ward’s recital at Hasluck’s Academy. There are also press cuttings and programmes relating to recitals at Hasluck’s Academy.

The cigarette contained in the letter was in an unsuitable state for permanent preservation as part of the collection and had to be disposed off.
