Public/Patient Involvement

Administrative / Biographical History

The Patient Focus/Public Involvement [PF/PI] was set up in 2001 by Yorkhill NHS Trust to involve the public, including children, families, groups and communities. The key underlying principles are providing care which is patient focused rather than service led and which involves service users. In 2007 the corporate responsibility and accountability for PFPI within the Women and Children’s Directorate lies within Clinical Governance. A newsletter, Talk Back, began in 2001 to update the public on the Trust’s plans to increase public involvement.
