LETTER: Robert [?] Amlwch to his cousin Robert (Capt. Robert Jones). He wrote to Capt. Morgan in July to let him know that "Cwm Avon is at Amlwch and that a surveyor should be sent to examine her on behalf of the Insurance Society as her keel was damaged. Hugh Owen was sent. Captain Morgan said the keel was damaged before without being reported and it had been trimmed up. He gathers that the Insurance Society is not disposed to contribute towards cost of renewing keel and Hugh Owen suggested placing iron along the damaged portion. A Board of Trade Surveyor was unable to see extent of damage. Asks what can be done. He encloses Statement of Account since Capt. Pritchard left and shall send a Statement showing money owning to and by owners. The present Master owes £41.9s.3½d. J. Thomas, Shop, who met with an accident in Liverpool was buried yesterday in Amlwch cemetery. Mrs. R.O. Jones accompanied his father to the Custom House to get Richard Owen's wages.
