Scope and Content

CIRCULAR LETTER: Charles M. Connan; J.G. Evans, John Storey, 7 Derby Buildings, 24 Fenwick St., Liverpool (on behalf of Management Comm. Alliance) to Captain Robert Jones, Amlwch advising him of the arrival of the "Alliance" on the 16th at Valparaiso from Cardiff. The Committee appointed by the shareholders have used every endeavour to get Captain R.H. Roberts to furnish accounts, pay dividend and debts, etc. but without success, therefore a large majority of the owners signed an appointment for the members of the Committee to take the management of the vessel from Captain Roberts which they have done. The Solicitors have applied to Captain Roberts for a settlement, but without avail, and they have issued a writ to compel him to meet the requirements of the owners. The case will come before the Registrar of the Court of Admiralty shortly. The Committee gave their assurance that every possible economy will be studied in settling this unpleasant affair.
