LETTER: Robert [Jones] Shields, c/o Mackenzie Ship Brokers, 204 Great Brunswick Street, Dublin to his parents. He hopes they are well. He thanks God they are now towing out and they hope to get a quick passage. He trusts that they received the £45 which he sent - he couldn't send any more. He is sorry the are getting so much trouble. He has not heard from them regarding the berth he was offered in Dublin. He would like to hear from them as he does not want to do anything against their wishes. If he makes up his mind to leave in Dublin he hopes they will not be offended with him as if he will get a quick passage he will be in time to join one of the steamers One is due at Antwerp and they will be in Dublin to load for Newport and the other for India. The owner told hi that he will not ship another man until the day before sailing. But if his parents don't wish him to go he will wait as they have a new steamer being built.
