Scope and Content

LETTER: Lewis Jones, Hilbre Island, West Kirby to Mrs. Jones thanking her most sincerely for her kind letter and thanking Captain Jones for the grain which he received yesterday. He could not have sent him anything more useful and acceptable. They have 99 young chicks and wheat is the ideal food for them. He was glad to hear they are well and that Captain Jones had a nice little holiday at home before starting on another long voyage. He has not forgotten that it was with him that he made his first sea trip bound from Cemlyn for Amlwch when they had to turn in to Llaneilian - wind bound!! He went to the Isle of Man last month and the voyage home nearly killed him; he burst a small blood vessel and is only just recovering from its effects. His wife's health is improving.
