Scope and Content

LETTER: James Williams, Liverpool to Captain Jones, informing him that the "Catherine Williams" will be ready for sea tomorrow morning, weather permitting. Wind at present S.W. strong, he hopes it will be moderate in the morning and smooth on the bar. He encloses Bills and Orders for £14. All Bills paid at Poole except the charges on clay which will be deducted out of freight at Runcorn. He has advanced £14 to the crew and £3 for children at home and a pound or two in the vessel in case he is retained on passage. He also received £15 on account at Newcastle - hoping this will help the family at home, and help his sister Ann to better health.
