Scope and Content

LETTER: Robert [?], Amlwch to his cousin (?Capt. Robert Jones). He attended the meeting of Directors on Friday. Capt. Morgan was not present. It was passed subject to Capt. Morgan's approval that Owen Pritchard and Richard Edwards, carpenters, value the cost of repairs. A contribution towards cost of keel to be considered afterwards. Hugh Owen contended that a new keel was not necessary. It was also admitted that a surveyor should have been sent when the vessel was ashore. The conduct of the directors showed that the deciding voice is that of Captain Morgan and it is hardly likely that he will compromise in a way satisfactory to Captain Jones. Mr. W Thomas said that H.O. admitted the vessel required a new keel and said he would not deny this on oath. Mentions that it will be inconvenient for him unless he is able to get money from the Bank and asks him to write to Mr. Mathews this week.
