Scope and Content

The Alan Richardson collection comprises of ten postcard albums containing postcards depicting British theatres (Provincial and London) and International theatres (Algeria to Yugoslavia). It also contains loose photographs of the Barbican Theatre and engravings of other British theatres.

Acquisition Information

Donation received from Alan Richardson via his daughter in 2015. It is believed there were originally postcards of theatres in Paris and some further Italian postcards (including Sicily), but these were not transferred to The Theatres Trust at this time.
