The manuscript has the original pagination pp.1-65 and there is a basic index in the rear. It is a collection of a variety of medical preparations and treatments as well as recipes for other things such as blacking for shoes. Most of the recipes are described in abbreviated Latin using the apothecaries' system but some have more detailed explanations in English as to how to prepare them. In the case of the more detailed entries it is not unusual for reference to the source of the information to be made, whether it be a specific doctor or a publication. Some of the more detailed entries include soap for destroying termites and other insects in anatomical preparations and treatment for cholera.
