Scope and Content

This is volume 2 of 5 and bears the original pagination pp.385-756. There is no numbering of lectures or indication where each lecture begins or ends but clear subject headings are evident throughout. The writing is on the recto of each page only and there is a subject index in the rear.

The contents of the lectures according to the index are: smallpox; inoculation; measles; scarlet fever; miliary fever; aphtha; erysipelas; plague; topical inflammatory fevers; phrenitis [delirium]; ophthalmia; angina; catarrhal fever; division of coughs; tussis convulsiva [whooping cough]; pleurisy; inflammatio mediastini [mediastinitis]; inflammatio pericardii [pericarditis]; peripneumony [pneumonia]; paraphrenitio.

The volume bears the bookplate of the Radford Library, Saint Mary's Hospital, Manchester, which also indicates that it was allocated the reference number Q129 viz. their 1877 catalogue. The volume has since been referenced J6 G20 as part of an alternative system and the spine reads 'Gregory's Practice Vol2'.
