Typescript drafts of several works by Alison Uttley, again mainly children's stories or essays. There are several complete drafts of books of essays such as A Peck of Gold and Cuckoo in June, three copies of her cookery book Recipes from an Old Farmhouse and a complete draft of her autobiographical tale of childhood, Ambush of Young Days. Perhaps most interesting are the several drafts of A Traveller in Time, her most popular and famous book, which show that the finished version could have been quite different, lacking the time travel angle which makes it unique. There are also transcripts of broadcasts relating to her or her work, and speeches made to various organisations, some of which were later reused in her books.
The draft typescripts are always corrected in the hand of Alison Uttley.
