Scope and Content

This sub-fonds includes manuscripts of musical compositions, many of them autograph, by composers including Claude F Fox-Chawner and William Croft. This group also contains manuscripts of compositions by John Blow, Aleessandro Scarlatti and Johann Wenzel Tomaschek which, along with Giovanni Bononcini's Arie dell'Opera di Calfurnia, are considered to be of especial significance.
