Papers of the Monmouthshire and South Wales Coal Owners' Association and the Monmouthshire and South Wales Mutual Indemnity Society primarily concerning the recruitment of miners in wartime 1913-1921; correspondence with the Board of Trade and its appointee, the District Coal and Coke Supplies Committee for South Wales and Monmouthshire 1918-1921; list of names and addresses of colliers, undated (c1850-1980); copy of the Coal Mines Act 1911; National Health Insurance emergency cards 1919; Dayman's wages sheets of New Dynant Colliery 1939; admission tickets to a harp evening 1918 and a dramatic entertainment 1921 (both in Welsh), on the reverse of the tickets are lists of men absent from work on the 15th October 1921 and the 19th August 1921.

These papers were found by a builder in a house which he was demolishing and handed to the depositor. Most are business papers of the Pentremawr Colliery, Pontyberem. Some relate to the New Dynant Colliery of the Amalgamated Anthracite Collieries Ltd.
