Administrative / Biographical History

Algar Ronald Ward Robertson (1902-1975) worked as Assistant Treasurer, GoldCoast, 1929-1936 and Deputy Treasurer, British Guiana, 1936-1939. He wasFinancial Secretary in Fiji, 1940-1948, Trinidad and Tobago, 1948-1953,Nigeria, 1953-1954, and the Federation of Nigeria, 1954-1956. Awarded theCBE, 1948 and CMG, 1953, he was twice married, in 1931 to Carol Rhys Maunsell,with whom he had one daughter (the marriage was dissolved in 1954), and in 1955to Marjorie Mary Lovatt Smith.
