Scope and Content

2 typewritten copy letters : one from John Wheldon, Justice of the Peace of Bangor, Wisconsin to his nephew Rev. T. J. Wheldon, 1896, giving an account of the time his family emigrated from Wales to America in 1817; the other, from Huw Wheldon to his parents, 1959, containing an account of his visit to Bangor, Wisconsin.

Administrative / Biographical History

Sir Wynn P. Wheldon, the donor of this collection, was a graduate of the University College of North Wales and of Cambridge. He was a Major in the Royal Welch Fusiliers and after recovering from wounds suffered during the First World War, he entered into legal practice. He succeeded John Edward Lloyd as Registrar of the University College of North Wales.
