Scrapbook containing cuttings, postcards, photographs and pamphlets relating to the University of Manchester and Manchester medics, mostly dating from the 1920s. The book includes postcards with photographs of the Victoria University, Langdale Hall, a university laboratory, and Manchester Cathedral. There are cuttings about Ernest Rutherford, Professor Elliot Smith, the new MRI, lectures on various subjects given at the University, the installation of Lord Crawford as Chancellor of the University, and obituaries for many distinguished Manchester men, including Samuel Langford (music critic of the Manchester Guardian), Dr Sidney Rawson Wilson, Dr Adolph Brodsky, and Arthur H. Burgess. The scrapbook also contains some very interesting photographs, including photographs of staff and interiors at St Mary's Hospital in 1922, the Delamere Sanatorium, and the University of Manchester Degree Ceremonies in 1923.
