John Peck to John Trevor, esq.: has not been able yet to find a way of conveying money to him and has had to take it to Mr Edisbury's 'by reason of a rumour of robbing about Marford'; dealings with tenant Ledsham; Mrs Wood had tried to make him believe her son Andrew was lame and therefore could not return but writer's son had met him at Whitchurch and he was perfectly well and had asked him not to tell his father this; writer had confronted Mrs Wood and demanded to know when she would be leaving but she had got angry and refused to say; negotiations with Captain Ball; hopes a pie and cheese arrived safely.
