Samuel Wood (Trevalyn) to Sir John Trevor (Cannon Row, Westminster): sends a summary of the custom entries at Liverpool from the beginning of the year; the difficulties and dangers of dealing with John Trevalyn who wishes to sell him some land; '… fears do daily increase here whether upon just grounds or not God knows …'; 'no cattle will sell here but a special cow or such and grounds are not earnestly looked after except a little hay ground and that not much … The parks hang on me. They are dear and no man will meddle with them...'
