John Peck to Sir John Trevor, MP (Cannon Row, Westminster): 'here at present things are very dead and little money to be had by reason cattle yields no price by reason grass is so much burned away'; has stocked Rofft y Castell with sheep himself or else it would have remained empty; much of their land is unlet because 'land is let so cheap by Sir Thomas Powell, Billitt [Bellott] and Sir Richard Grosvenor for they have little store of cattle to stock it themselves'; the mills are unlet and costing a lot of money.
