Administrative / Biographical History

The Hemajo was built in 's-Hertogenbosch, Holland and registered in the Port of Cardiff in 1968 to a Hendrick Denekamp. In May 1973 James Barry Morris purchased the ship, taking out a mortgage with Slater Walker Finance Corporation Ltd. In July 1976 the ship was transferred to Allan, Michael, Clive, Brynley and Melvin Jones with a mortgage from First Fortune Ltd. The ship was sold to Jeremaiah Evans in April 1982. The Hemajo was a motorised twin screw vessel.

Custodial History

The items came out of an old client file of Conway Davis Ltd during an office clear out, and were passed to David Jenkins of the National Waterfront Museum who transferred them to Glamorgan Archives.
