Scope and Content

John Parkinson, blockprinter, of Tottington Lower End accused Joseph Byrom of stealing (30 Dec) 3 turkeys, a cock and 2 hens. Policeman William Macguire traced the footsteps from the cote in which the birds had been to the house of Joseph Byrom. Two odd soles on Joseph Byrom's shoes fitted the prints made. Heads and legs of the birds found near the prisoner's house.
