Single piece of paper containing a receipt for two payments made by James Assheton [named as an assayer ("essuyer")] to William Langley. First receipt is for the payment of £15 for half a years rent of a fifth of the corn arising in the parish of Owldam [Oldham]. Second receipt is for the payment of 3s 4p for half a years rent for a property called Popithorne [Poppythorn]. Both payments received at Martinmass [11 November]. Signed by William Langley.
