'Christmas Gooding (December)' [173/B173]

By Anne Johnstone alone, printed by Royle Publications Ltd. (ref. NM / A 1791). Shows six young children grouped around a boy holding a small Christmas tree. The twelfth of 12 cards, all by Anne Johnstone, for the months of the year. Originally, there were probably complete sets of 12 in both large and small format and while this collection includes a complete set, a few of them are small format. The paintings for the cards were executed between 1972 and 1976. In 1997 Award Publications issued a book, 'A Year of Poetry', in which all 12 cards were reprinted with an appropriate poem facing each picture.
