NETHER WORTON PARISH RECORDS

Scope and Content

Nether Worton is a small village in the north of Oxfordshire, to the south west of Deddington. in 1928 it was united with the parish of Over Worton, and both parishes are now united with Great and Little Tew.

After the amalgamation of Over and Nether Worton, it seems that only one set of registers was used for both churches, and that this was kept at Over Worton. Searchers looking for baptisms, marriages and burials of people from Nether Worton should therefore use the registers in PAR301 (Over Norton) below).

The parish records of Nether Worton were all deposited with Oxfordshire Archives in 1985, and assigned the Accession Number 2418. An appendix gives a concordance of old and new reference numbers. Further records were deposited as Acc 5839 in April 2009.

Catalogued by Robin Darwall-Smith in June 1996, additions by Alison Smith in April 2009.
