Scope and Content

DEPOSITION: John Jones of Gallt yr rhedyn parish Newborough, farmer, taken in presence of John Jones and William Owen accused of stealing potatoes from the garden of Gallt yr rhedyn. States that he took Mary Roberts, mother of the accused John Jones, to gaol on suspicion of felony. On his return he went to her house Erw Wen and asked the accused J.J. where the potatoes were that he took from Gallt yr rhedyn. The accused J.J. confessed and told him where the potatoes were. Later J.J. the accused and W.O. above brought two sacks of potatoes to Gallt yr rhedyn. W.O. had oreviously confessed.
