Copies of the public accounts of England for 1679-1708, with many other accounts, lists of officers and fees, establishments and other estimates, proceedings of Commissioners and the like for 1660-1716, all in some way relating to the Exchequer.

Acquisition Information

In 1888 E.W.B. Nicholson, Bodley's Librarian, purchased the collection for 40 11s, and 'after offering them at the same price to the Treasury transferred the purchase' in 1889 to the Bodleian for the same sum.

Custodial History

The collection was bought from the collection of William Selby Lowndes, of Whaddon Hall (having been in the possession of William Lowndes about 1716), by W.H. Gee, bookseller in Oxford, in 1887.
