Scope and Content

Autograph letter, signed, 2+pp. 8vo.

The report in the Star about the House of Commons action on [the rights of] women householders [as owners of property] and the omission of any notice of the petition for the franchise, probably accidental, made her wish to write to the editor, but she feared antagonizing him. She has asked Mrs Peter Taylor [no relation but another feminist] to 'come down on Wednesday.' Postscript on a separate half-sheet suggests Miss Davies as the fifth person on their committee [to continue the pressure on Parliament and the public]. Mr Mill thinks that a good number.
