A conference paper by Roger Stott (a former member of the Brethren who left after the 1970 Aberdeen division) for a conference on the Treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and gives a brief history of the development and growth of the Exclusive Brethren and then details the various practices and their consequences which can lead to PTSD. The paper gives insight into the Brethren's use of 'thought police', and the tendency to encourage guilt and anxiety as a form of control.
