Administrative / Biographical History
The Literary and Philosophical Society was founded as an inter-faculty discussion group for academic staff at University College Swansea (now University of Wales Swansea), in the 1930s, and after some years of inactivity, it was refounded in the 1950s. The society is no longer in operation.
