Austin Ernest Duncan-Jones (1908-1967), son of the Very Reverend A. S. Duncan-Jones, Dean of Chichester. Married Elsie Elizabeth Phare Educated Caius College, Cambridge. Appointed as Assistant Lecturer in Philosophy in 1934 at the University of Birmingham becoming Professor of Philosophy in 1951. He was Editor of Analysis 1933-48; President of Mind Association, 1952; President of the Aristotelian Society, 1960-61. Publications included Butler's Moral Philosophy , 1952 and articles in philosophical journals ; University of Birmingham archives
