OXFORD WIVES FELLOWSHIP RECORDS

Scope and Content

The Wives Fellowship movement began in 1916 when members of the Mothers Union and Girls Diocesan Association wished to form a new group to attract younger wives. The Young Wives Sub-committee was formed as part of the Mother's Union but by 1918 they had become the Young Wives Fellowship. They became independent of the Mother's Union in 1937. The Oxford Branch was established in 1916 and is still active.

The records were deposited as Acc 5732 in May 2008 and Acc 6553 in March 2017. Catalogued by Alison Smith in April 2017.
