Records of Stoddard International plc, Design Archive, Floral Bordered Squares 1

Scope and Content

A selection of small sketches, all from the late 19th to mid 20th century, loosely titled 'Floral Bordered Squares 1', most of which resemble Templeton's Medallion range in style or feature floral, damask or chintz designs, though there are also a few sketches which bare similarities to the Block Modern 1930s or Art Deco designs. There are designs by, amongst others, Frederick J. Mayers and most, though not all, are mounted on hard board. Some designs are in the form of promotional boards, so, using the design number, can be cross-referenced with STOD/201/1/1 'Catalogues'.

This description is part of the  Design Archive  which is divided into the 142 sections, each with its own separate description.
