Moses Kotane was the leader of the South African Communist Party from 1939 until his death in 1978. He was Treasurer General of the African National Congress, 1963-1973.

Note
Hilda Saks (1914-1995) was expelled from the South African Communist Party in 1935. She remained a Communist, however, and later lived in Israel under her married name Hilda Hope.
