Scope and Content

The archive contains press cuttings regarding librarianship, mainly in the UK (excluding Wales), but also in other parts of the world. Subjects covered include censorship;museums and archives;community and cultural activities; university and college libraries; local government; publishing and bookselling; private and subscription libraries; security in libraries; technical developments; librarians; rare books; printing; copyright; adult literacy; school libraries; library schools; library associations; national libraries; medical libraries, and library management and administration.

Administrative / Biographical History

The cuttings were initially compiled by staff of the College of Librarianship Wales, followed by the staff of the Thomas Parry Library, University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
