This report was a discussion paper produced in Sir Liam's role as the Government's Chief Medical Advisor, raising a number of questions as a basis for engaging with partners across government and beyond to develop a coherent and effective UK global health strategy . It considered the global context of health and sets out why a coherent strategic framework was essential if the UK is to maximise its impact on global health. It also outlines the need for an international approach to protect the health of the UK population, reduce global poverty and harness the opportunities of globalisation in economic, health and humanitarian terms.
