PUBLIC RECORDS.

Plans, sections and related material submitted to the Board of Trade (and succesor bodies) in connection with proposed works on the Flintshire coast (tidal waters of rivers Dee and Clwyd).

Administrative / Biographical History

The Board of Trade was responsible for approving plans for works along the Flintshire coast, and in the tidal waters of the Rivers Dee and Clwyd. Works included the laying of cables and pipes, construction of bridges and piers, strengthening sea defences and dredging operations. The Board of Trade's functions were taken over by the newly-created Department of Trade and Industry in 1970. Copies of the submitted proposals were retained as a record.
