Letter from William Lovett to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Lovett informs Owen that the members of the Working Men's Association have elected him as an Honorary Member in light of the "exertions in the cause of millions". Lovett writes [he] hopes that the investigations being carried out by the working classes regarding the "anomalies of the present system" may cause them to see "no hope of escape" except though the social arrangements proposed by Owen.

Enclosed is a printed copy of the Prospectus and Rules of the Working Men's Association on the rear of which is a names and addresses of each of the members, who number around 30. Also enclosed is Owen's Association membership card, which is numbered 16.
