Letter from Henry McCormac to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter informing Owen of McCormac's success in setting up 11 "trading companies" around the Belfast area. McCormac writes of "individuals coming over to the right side" and of the growth of information [about the trading companies]. However, Mccormac concedes that influential people [in Belfast] as yet "remain untouched".

McCormac continues, outlining his thoughts on the lack of interest from influential members of Belfast society and remarks plaintively "no country needs the blessings of Cooperative managements than Ireland".
