Letter from John Morrison to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

This manuscript letter introduces the bearer Woodhouse Stevens to Owen in the hope that Owen will be able to help Woodhouse with his "mission" in London. Woodhouse, a native of Philadelphia, will also inform Owen of the present state and future prospects for America. Morrison believes that his namesake Alex[ander] Morrison would like to meet Woodhouse.

Morrison writes that the Free Enquirer newspaper is not yet making "rapid strides" but is gaining slowly, especially in the Western States.

Further discussion is of individuals in America who Owen is acquainted with.
