Letter from William Pare to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

This manuscript letter introduces Mr Dobbs, a reformer turned co-operator, to Robert Owen. It is hoped that Owen will introduce him to the workings of his Institution, especially the schools and Labour Exchange, and in doing so allow him to "become a powerful auxiliary in the great cause, inasmuch as he is a very good public Lecturer and has a happy method of illustrating his his subject."

He also refers to the meeting Owen requested with Thomas Attwood, Mr Jones and Mr Cobbet. He relays to Owen that Mr Attwood has declined the invitation as he is too busy; he has not heard from the others.
