Letter from D. Macdonald to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter containing detailed discussion regarding the printing and publication of prospectus, reports and pamphlets [relating to the establishment of a community at Orbiston, Scotland] . Macdonald notes several individuals who agreed to take copies and help with distribution including Mr Morgan, Mr [Archibald] Hamilton, Mr Jeffery and Mr Colquhoun. Macdonald notes several of the locations where he has placed copies including before the "advocates" and the "writers library tables".

Macdonald explains he had a long conversation with Sir William Hamilton during which he had some success in gaining a "few concessions", and also induced him to read the reports.
