Scope and Content

Printed copy of facts relating to the provision of education and the perceived relationship to crime levels in England and Wales. Tabular information is accompanied by lengthy text, in which Bentley explains he collected the details over a 5 year period whilst working on "commercial work of great national importance".

Praise is reserved for the education provided at New Lanark which, Bentley explains, was the only time he came across compulsory education for all children for children aged 3 to 13.
