Letter from Alex Campbell to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter thanking Owen for the latest edition [4th] of his journal "The New Existence of Man upon the Earth". Discussion of the possibility for inclusion in the next edition, a copy of a report "of the proceedings in Ireland", which Campbell and William Pare presented to Lord Clarendon in 1847.

Loose with the letter is a prospectus for The Great National Agricultural & Sanitory Improvement Company. The company aims to apply "liquid and gaseous manures" to the roots of plants to help them grow by means of "Under-current Arterial Circulation" and wishes to raise capital of £100,000 in £5 shares to do so.
