Letter from David Ludlow to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Ludlow informs Robert Owen of a resolution that was unanimously passed at the fourth conversazione of the Social Science League.

The resolution reads as followed:That this meeting, while regretting the absence of Mr Owen beg to record their gratitude for his long and disinterested labour in the cause of social progress, and to express a hope that the year 1858 may be pregnant with those changes in the principles and practises[sic] of society best calculated to promote the permanent happiness of the human race...."
