Letter from Robert Owen to George Villiers

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter: Owen encloses a memorial to Lord Clarendon, which Owen intends to present to the Treasury, which contains suggestions that he believes will help lead the country into a direction that will stave off disaster.

He hopes to enlist Clarendon's "powerful aid to bring them before the government " in order that the suggestions will be given "grave consideration."
