Letter from Thomas Atkins to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter inviting Owen to attend a meeting along with Atkins at which they will discuss the wishes of an unnamed individual who has offered to donate eighty acres of land on which to build an “Educational and Instructional Establishment”. A list of others invited to the meeting are named as Messrs. [William] Pare, Francis, Nash, Pemberton and Coris?. Annotated on the letter in Owen's hand, is a message for William Pare to make an order to the solicitor to have "Mr B views in writing".
