Letter from Henry Travis to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Travis writes of his disappointment in not seeing Owen in London and asks Owen to write him a few lines.

Travis writes of keeping up with Owen's "election movements" through the pages of The Times and of finding them more interesting than "all the rest put together". He adds that the manner in which The Times reported Owen's speeches shows a "very much improved feeling" towards him.

Owen is advised to read about the "ferment" being created in France by the "communists" who are disciples of [Étienne] Cabet.
