Letter from Henry Price to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter carrying news of events in Paris. Price writes of on the one hand "Socialists of every shade" making progress, whilst on the other hand it is clear that Louis Napoleon ha a party stronger than was thought and everything in the last 24 hours has been "Napoleonic". Important subjects are due to be discussed in the National Assembly [of France] that day.

The letter closes with Price writing of just hearing that the Assembly have refused to allow [Louis] Napoleon to take is place in the House and as a result an "immense crowd" has gathered on the Place de la Concorde.
