Letter from Chas Bury to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter: Butler introduces Mr. Simon, "a native of France" and "director of a weekly paper."

Butler writes that Simon is, "an individual of intellectual habits...one who has thought on the irrational state of society and pondered the means which philanthropists have proposed for the removal of the numerous avoidable evils with which mankind is at the present time afflicted."

A note is enclosed from "George Marshall"; Marshall recommends Butler's introduction.
